De Shopping en el Valle

de shopping

It has been seven years since De Shopping en el Valle magazine was published for the first time. The magazine is the best source of news for shopaholics living in and visiting the Rio Grande Valley.

Publisher Gloria Gracia is responsible for the magazine’s style exceling in layout design, quality of advertisements and fresh and relevant content. It was created with the purpose of creating a regional shopping experience for residents of the Rio Grande Valley. It has certainly accomplished that purpose, but it has also become a great resource for Mexican shoppers visiting South Texas.

Forty thousand copies are printed in Spanish each month which are distributed throughout the valley, and important cities in northern Mexico such as Ciudad Victoria, Monterrey, Saltillo and Tampico. “We are the only magazine distributed inside La Plaza Mall in McAllen, area I-HOPs and Cracker Barrel Restaurant,” said Gloria adding that places like the Premium Outlet Malls, La Plaza Mall, Macy’s and Old Navy are great supporters of De Shopping magazine.

The September issue featured 83 pages of beautiful ads and short stories about new local pubs, events and entertainment venues.  In addition, Gloria said they have added a couple of new sections titled Visitando Texas (Visiting Texas) and Visitando Mexico (Visiting Mexico) due to the high demand of advertisers outside of the valley. The Visiting Texas section for this same month features the city of Corpus Christi,  La Palmera Mall in Corpus Christi, San Antonio’s JW Marriott, a couple of hotels in Port Aransas and Zapata, plus the natural Bridge Caverns in San Marcos and a restaurant in the Woodlands. “Our Texan advertisers want to reach out to people living in the valley and northern Mexico -where the magazine is distributed- and our Mexico advertisers want to promote their businesses and destinations among those living in the valley. It all works out,” said Gloria.

No other publication currently matches the distribution De Shopping en el Valle offers, and their well- targeted market of affluent shop-loving individuals on both sides of the border. There is a great balance in their featured advertisements: from Mercedes Benz, Jaguar and other dealerships to traditional Mexican and international food venues, furniture stores, home décor, fashion and beauty, home builders, local airports and visitors bureaus and so much more, even an ad selling a Cessna golden eagle aircraft and real estate properties.

Whether you want to find out about local shopping or if you are interested in advertising to reach out to De Shopping en el Valle readers; this magazine is highly recommended.
