If you love playing Golf, or simply having a good time, you have to see this place!

During a recent visit to Houston, Texas, just a five hour short drive from the Rio Grande Valley, I had the opportunity of visiting Top Golf.

I had heard it was a three story driving range sort of what I had seen in the movies before, but I did not expect it to have such a wonderful menu! Everything was delicious and served like a gourmet dish; absolutely unexpected. Houston has 2 TopGolf locations, I visited the one in West Houston on Interstate Highway 10.

I was also surprised at the comfortable and modern lounge furniture with top equipment and TV screens all over this 65,000 sq. ft. facility featuring 102 bays in 3 floors of amazing comfort. The background pop music, the friendly and efficient staff make this a must stop in Houston, Texas.  Another unexpected feature for a driving range is its point-scoring golf games that anyone can play. It features bull’s-eye and dartboard-like targets that make the game a competition sort of like bowling; TopGolf even has leagues

There is plenty of room for private parties in this three story multi-bar facility, just check out their website for a list of events going on year round.  If you don’t golf, you will love the atmosphere and hanging out with your buddies in an outdoor environment with all the comfort of indoors. There is always great music, great food and cold drinks – does not get better than that. Plus you can play way passed the sun setting because the facility is all lit in a unique way; color coordinated with each of the target zone’s colors.

TopGolf was recently named among the nation’s most successful private companies by Inc. Magazine.

More TopGolf locations can be found in Dallas, Austin, and even in the United Kingdom!

About TopGolf from their website

As you’d expect, the story of TopGolf began on a driving range, where two brothers were practicing their swings. The year was 2000.

As boredom took hold, the brothers began brainstorming ways they could liven up their range experience and improve their skills at the same time. Why wasn’t there a place where they could work on their game and also have the best time of their lives? Why couldn’t they know exactly where their ball had landed?

The idea for TopGolf was born.

The Jolliffe brothers envisioned a new kind of golf experience that combines competition with entertainment. Players hit microchipped golf balls at targets on an outfield. Just picture a larger-than-life-sized outdoor dartboard – but for golf. And for a little friendly rivalry, the high-tech balls instantly score each shot’s accuracy and distance.

Fast forward to 2013, and TopGolf has evolved to become a best-in-class entertainment facility, complete with a dynamic event spaces and a food and drink menu that would put any sports bar to shame. With golf pros strolling the tee line offering tips and climate-controlled hitting bays, TopGolf is flat-out fun at any age, skill level or time of year.

It’s like drinks with your best buddies, the weekly poker night, a Sunday tee-time, playing Wii with the kids, and the best date you’ve ever had – all rolled into one.

How did this fairy tale end? Well, it hasn’t. Today, TopGolf serves more than 1.5 million annual visitors worldwide. We want you to be one of them. Let’s Play!

Top Golf is a privately held company with no plans to franchise at this time. Maybe they will consider opening TopGolf in the Rio Grande Valley in the near future. What do you think?
