Our Feathered Visitors

Perula

This little cutie is a Northern Perula that is migrating through the Rio Grande Valley. Some say its timing is early for spring migration, while others have stated that Northern Perulas have actually wintered here near Brownsville, Texas. This beautiful photograph was taken by Terry Fuller on March 8, 2014 in South Padre Island where other type of visitors we know as Spring Breakers are populating the beach, and having a good time regardless of the unusually cold temperatures our region is experiencing.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.-Maya Angelou. La Vida Valle is where I write about "la vida" my life in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. I write about the food, the culture, the good times and the bad. I write about the people who make El Valle festive and laid back at the same time. Contributions and comments are always welcome .
